One of the things I'm always moaning about is the tendency for news sites to focus entirely on music that's available on Spotify and Apple Music. Currents is a new platform that brings together both of these, as well as Bandcamp and SoundCloud. My favourites! Currents has invited people like Doc Sleep, rRoxymore, Minor Science and M.E.S.H. to put together rolling playlists pulled from across these platforms, which fans and listeners can subscribe to for free or from $2.50 a month. It's a fascinating approach that I'm glad to be a part of it. I've put together a playlist called Bandcloud's favourite snoozers, with some lovely gentle recent ambient.
